Editorial Policy

MediGuide publishes plain-language health information to help Canadians understand symptoms, navigate the health care system, and have more informed conversations with their providers. We believe transparency about how that content is created is essential — especially for health topics. This page explains our process honestly and in plain terms.

Our Mission

To make trustworthy, easy-to-understand health information freely available to everyone in Canada, and to help people find the right care at the right time. Our content is designed to educate and empower — never to replace a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

How We Create Content

MediGuide content is AI-assisted and human-edited. We use artificial intelligence to help research and draft articles, and our team reviews, fact-checks, and edits that material before it is published. We do not publish raw, unreviewed AI output as factual health guidance.

Our editorial process includes:

  • Researching each topic against recognised Canadian health authorities and guidelines.
  • Drafting content in clear, accessible language aimed at a general audience.
  • Human review for accuracy, balance, clarity, and appropriate cautions.
  • Adding source references so readers can verify information at the original source.

Sourcing Standards

Where possible, our articles reference established Canadian organizations and public health bodies — such as Health Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Heart & Stroke, Diabetes Canada, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and similar authorities. Relevant sources are listed at the bottom of individual articles so you can read further.

Source links point to third-party organizations. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, but we choose references we consider credible and broadly recognised.

Authorship

MediGuide content is researched, edited, and approved by our founder, Rishi Mohan, who holds a degree in pharmacy and a medical degree. His training in pharmacy and medicine informs how our articles are reviewed, fact-checked, and framed for a general Canadian audience.

To be clear and honest: our articles are general health information, not a personalized medical opinion and not a substitute for a consultation with your own licensed healthcare provider. Reading an article does not create a patient relationship, and the guidance here is not tailored to your individual medical history. This is exactly why every article carries a disclaimer urging you to consult a qualified Canadian healthcare professional about your specific situation.

Accuracy and Corrections

We aim to keep our content accurate and reasonably current, but medical knowledge and Canadian guidelines evolve. If you spot something that appears incorrect, outdated, or unclear, please email us at rmohan616@gmail.com. We review every report and update or remove content where warranted.

Editorial Independence and Advertising

MediGuide is free to use and may be supported in part by advertising. Advertising is kept separate from our editorial content: advertisers do not write, review, or influence our articles, and the presence of an ad does not imply our endorsement of any product or service.

Not Medical Advice

All MediGuide content is for general informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Please see our Medical Disclaimer for full details. In an emergency, call 911.
